Besan
Besan is a very common ingredient used to enhance the complexion of skin, used over the years in India. Besan or gram flour acts as a natural exfoliator and helps in removing dead skin cells.
How To Use:
Mix the besan with water, milk or any other ingredients. Apply it like a pack on the skin. Sometimes, sugar is also added to enhance the exfoliation process.
Milk
Milk controls the level of Tyrosine in the skin which is the main reason for skin darkening and promotes a skin full of glow.
How To Use:
You can apply raw milk to your skin directly or mix it with any other ingredients to form a face mask. Rinse off with lukewarm water.
Honey
As we all know honey is an excellent moisturizer and helps to keep the skin hydrated. It is also rich in bleaching properties which helps in fading pigmentation and scars.
How To Use:
Before applying this make sure your skin is clean and damp. Now, you can apply honey directly on your face and body. Massage it well for a few minutes and allow the skin to absorb it. Now, wash off the face with lukewarm water.
Cucumber
Cucumber has the same pH level as that of our skin, that helps in replenishing the skin’s protective layer and keeps the skin hydrated and glowing.

Put slices of cucumber on your eyes or put cucumber in a mixer grinder and apply the juice.

Turmeric
Blessed with many antibacterial properties, turmeric eliminates free radicals that can damage the skin and also enhances the collagen production to keep the skin fresh and young.
How To Use:
Mix about half a teaspoon of turmeric powder with a cup of besan . Add enough milk or water to it and mix well to form a smooth paste. You can also add a few drops of rose water to it. Apply the pack on your face and neck, wait till it dries. Rinse it off with cool water.

Sunsreem
Sunscreen is no doubt the most important step towards basic skin care as exposure to the sun can cause wrinkles, dark spots, other skin problems and also increases the risk of skin cancer.
For complete sun protection use a broad-spectrum sunscreen of at least SPF 15. Keep reapplying the sunscreen if needed. Other than that, seek shade and try to avoid the sun between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., when it is the strongest. You can also wear protective clothings that is specifically designed to block ultraviolet rays of sun.
Stop smoking
It is not new that smoking contributes to wrinkles but it also narrows the blood vessels in the outer layers of skin; this results in decreased blood flow, making the skin paler. Smoking also depletes the oxygen and nutrient levels of skin.
Smoking damages collagen and elastin, which gives the skin strength and elasticity. Moreover the repeated facial expressions made while smoking contribute to wrinkles.
So, If you smoke, the best way to help your skin is to quit.
Treat skin gently
Keep the daily cleansing gentle as it can damage the skin barrier.
Limit bath time in hot water as it removes the oils from your skin. Avoid strong soaps that can strip the oil from your skin and go for mild cleansers.
Shave carefully and apply shaving cream to protect and provide lubrication and remember to shave in the direction of hair growth.
After bath gently pat your skin dry and apply moisture.
Eat a healthy diet
A healthy diet can keep the skin looking fresh and best. Consume plenty of fruits, veggies, lean proteins and whole grains. A diet with fish oil or its supplements, low high density fats and refined carbs can keep the skin looking younger. Having lots of water also helps in maintaining the health of skin.
